Get Paid To Provide Honest Reviews About Apps

MyAppAware is a service that pays you to download apps from the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. You review them honestly, then either offer suggestions to improve the app, share it on Facebook, or share it on Twitter. I have been using MyAppAware for about 2 months now and I have been paid a total of 10 times for a total of $165.20 including the cost of the apps and any bonuses I have received.

I have also discovered a handful of paid apps that I really like for free and some that I really didn’t like that I have deleted. This service exists to connect real users with apps they like in order for them to become long term customers for the developers.

I want to stress that this is a legitimate service that pays you the cost of the app plus a small bonus for an HONEST well thought out review. This service does NOT expect or want you to give a positive review just because you are being given a small amount of compensation for the effort of taking the time to try an app and give a well thought out review. In my experience they NEVER attempt to influence whether your review is positive, negative, or neutral. Providing only honest feedback is beneficial to the app developer and anyone who may want to download the app in the future.

MyAppAware Is Moved To The Graveyard

Update – August 2022 – MyAppAware had been gone for a few years. It was one of the few paid review sites that did not require positive reviews.

Update March 27, 2016 – Myappaware is still going strong, I have been paid a total of 52 times for lifetime earnings of $1686.11 including the cost of the apps and any bonuses I have received.

How MyAppAware Works

When you log in to MyAppAware.com you initially see your dashboard which shows a summary of apps that you have reviewed and how much you are owed in purchases and how much you are owed in bonuses. When you sign up, you need to give them your iTunes username so they can verify that you have reviewed the apps.

Update – August 9th, 2012 The admin has informed me that several people have been letting the reviews they don’t want to do expire. This causes the reviews to take much longer to finish than they are supposed to. As a result, MyAppAware has decided to reduce the amount of time we have to complete reviews to from 48 hours to 36 hours. If you know you are not going to complete a review, please be respectful to MyappAware, the developers, and the other reviewers by CANCELING the review.

When you go to the app repository there is a list of apps you can choose to review in 20 different categories including: Games, Entertainment, Utility, Reference, Photography, Navigation, Finance, Travel, Weather, etc. When you select an app to review you are given 2 full days to purchase (if it is a paid app) and download the app, then test it and review it.

Getting Credit For Your Review

The system will then find your review and refund your purchase price and give you a bonus as long as you completed the review within 2 days. In my experience the app store can sometimes take as long as a day to post your review.  Sometimes your review is verified after the 2 days have passed but you still get credit as long as you wrote and posted your review in time.

Actions

After your review has been verified you are required to perform an action. Actions include following the app developer on Facebook or Twitter or telling the developer how they can improve their app. You are paid a bonus for completing at least one of the actions, the available actions are up to the developer.

VIP Program

If you consistently provide reviews that are of high quality (positive, negative, and neutral) you can request to be in the VIP program. This will provide you with dibs on all apps that are available before anyone else. You will also get to review apps that are limited to only VIP reviewers.

How Much Can You Earn In Rewards?

With MyAppAware.com you are given apps for free and you are also given a bonus for each review and action you perform. You are always paid the entire price of the app and if the app is free you still get paid the bonus.

Combined Or Basic Plan

Update As of June 6th, 2012 – the new minimum for both the combined and basic plans is $5.00 in order to reduce the expense of  PayPal fees that MyAppAware has to pay for cash outs.

There are 2 different plans to choose from: a basic and a combined plan. The combined plan requires you to make at least $3.00 in bonuses to cash out. For this review I will only talk about the combined plan because that is all I have used. The difference is that the combined plan only pays you half of the bonus amounts. The benefit of the basic plan is that you don’t have to meet a minimum payment to cash out. You can switch between the two anytime you have no pending bonus to be paid.

Bonus

When you chose an app you will see a bonus amount which is between $.70 and $1.00. When you complete a review and action you will be paid $.60 and $.90. This discrepancy is because the app developer is allowed to rate your action which could increase your bonus by $.10 but they usually don’t. In my experience they have not rated any of my actions, I told support that they should change this but they have not done it yet.

Cashing Out

Once you reach the minimum payment for combined plans or at anytime for basic plans, all you need to do is request a payment and you will be paid immediately to your Paypal account. I have been impressed by the fact that there is absolutely no wait time like some of their competitors.

MyAppAware Support

I have emailed support for a few different things including things that were completely my fault. I have found that I always get an appropriate response very quickly. I have never found them to take more than 24 hours for anything and usually everything is handled within a few hours. For this reason alone I highly recommend them.

Helpful MyAppAware Tips

• Make sure you provide honest and well thought out reviews, as if you had paid for the app, no one benefits from false reviews whether positive or negative.
• Make sure your star rating matches your review, if your review is negative you should have 1 or 2 stars, if it is positive it should have 4 or 5 stars.
• Only 1 account is allowed per user, do not attempt to have more than one account or they will all be canceled.
• Make sure that you actually use the app before you review it, You are being paid for the time  to engage with the app. Don’t make up reviews that don’t reflect your honest opinion from using the app.
• Please respect this service, I have found them to be very trustworthy and honest, please treat them accordingly.
