Perk TV App Review | Paid 82 Times

Make Money Watching App And Movie Trailers

Perk TV by Jutera Inc. is currently the best opportunity to make money on your iPhone®, iPad®, iPod Touch®, Android, or Windows phone. This app is currently as good as or better than Viggle was when it First came out. I strongly suggest getting this app and using it as soon as possible since opportunities like this rarely last for very long. I initially downloaded Perk TV about 6 months ago but I didn’t realize at first how lucrative it was since you earn so little per video. About a month ago I started seriously trying to earn with Perk TV and so far in 1 month I have been paid 9 times with my total earnings being $90.00 in Amazon gift cards with about $25.00 in credits that I have not redeemed yet.

Perk TV Is Moved To The Graveyard

Update August 2022 – Perk Tv has been gone a long time now. It was great while it lasted but I doubt there will be anything quite like it again.

Update February 29th, 2016 – I have been paid 82 times for a total of $1,770.00 in Amazon gift cards from Perk.

Update February 29th, 2016 – Perk continues to be a relatively solid earner, especially in the later part of the year when there is more ad revenue to be had. It can be a little frustrating at times when it doesn’t seem to work right but that seems to be a way they use to control how much they pay out. I use it off and on but I allocate phones to various programs depending one what I think will bring the most revenue. Perk has gone public and they have been acquiring lots of other apps lately including Viggle and Appredeem. I think it still has pretty decent potential and they have added many new apps to give more variety to the way you can earn with Perk. They also have videos and offers on their websites Perk.com and Perk.tv.

If you are frustrated with Perk, I would recommend trying Checkpoints videos. As of February 2016 they allow up to 10 devices between Android and iPhone to run videos and it is extremely solid compared to other video apps at the moment. It could change in the future but it is a great place to allocate some resources now.

How Perk TV Works

How Much Can You Earn?

If you run Perk TV on your old phones or tablets you can expect to earn anywhere from $.70 to $1.25 per day for each device in the United States, the earnings are significantly lower in other countries. 1000 points is equal to $1.00 in gift cards. I seem to average about $1.00 a day per device with my iPhone 4, iPhone 5s, Samsung SII, Kyocera Hydro, and, Lg Optimus Zone 2. My iPhone 5 and Lg Optimus Zone 2 seem to do the best and the Kyocera Hydro performs the poorest but I got it for free. The videos cycle continuously without effort on your part but don’t take advantage of this feature.  There is a limit of 5 devices per person but families with multiple adults can have up to 5 accounts in a household. “Perk limits any user from having more than 5 referred members from the same household.” Make sure that you do not have more people in your household than you can prove with ID since they do require you to verify that they are real accounts.

What Rewards Are Available?

You can choose from many different gift cards including; Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Groupon, Starbucks, Target, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and many others. The gift cards range from $5.00 to $100.00 at the rate of 1000 points per dollar and I think there is one that is $250 for American Airlines. You can get $2.00 Amazon gift cards but they costs 2500 points so it is best to wait until you unlock the $5.oo and $10.00 cards since it doesn’t take very long. You also can cash out to PayPal but that costs 9000 points for $5.00 so I don’t recommend it. They have a few physical items like a Kindle Fire or Google Nexus 7 for 220000 points. There is something called CharityChoice which gives you a choice of over 1000 charities to donate to at the same rate as gift cards. I recommend cashing out every $5.00 to $10.00 since you never know what will happen tomorrow.

How Do You Earn Points?

Once your account is set up all you have to do is go to watch and earn and start the App Trailers. You will earn 4 points for every 2 app trailers your phone or tablet plays. In other countries I think it is 4 points for 20 trailers. There are offer walls in the app under the EZ points tab including Aarki, Trial Pay, and Radium One that have higher point values. There are several offer walls on their website and many other Perk apps that you can earn with including a browser app and a lock screen for Android. Make sure to interact with the ads that interest you since that is how they make money.  “It is against the terms of service to earn through the applications without any user activity for any extensive period of time.”

What Phones And Tablets Are Compatible With Perk TV?

You must use an iPhone 3gs or newer or Android 4.0 or newer. Do not buy anything older than that. Some Windows phones will work but you can only watch movie trailers which take longer and therefore pay less. If you are going to get new phones the later the OS the better since they will stop supporting older phones. They have stated that when the new iPhone comes out iPhone 4S will become the oldest compatible iPhone. I recommend buying only phones since tablets have a tendency to get overheated with continuous use. You can use it on your current tablet but you will need a way to keep it cool like a fan or air conditioner.

How Do You Get Extra Phones For Free Or Very Cheap?

It is best not to run this app on your main phone for very long if you have something really nice like an iPhone 5s or Galaxy S5 since it can be really hard on these phones and limit their life. I recommend that you acquire extra phones for free or for $40.00 or less.  If you get new phones and there is a problem with Perk in the future it is best to have a very low investment. I will list several resources here and tell you how I got my phones. Any phones you buy can be used with other programs when you are not running Perk TV such as Swagbucks or resold so you most likely won’t lose anything with new phone acquisitions but we want to make this as profitable as possible. Phones that are $40.00 or less will pay for themselves in about a month of using Perk.

Ebates

The first thing you will want to do is sign up for Ebates, I plan to make a separate post about it soon. This will be valuable to you for more than just buying cheap phones. I personally joined Ebates specifically to take advantage of the Boost Mobile offer where they credit you $17.50 for any purchase made from Boost, I initially missed the fine print where it said you have to activate service which I did not do. When I didn’t get credit after a few days, I inquired through their form and they made me show my receipt. I got a rebate check for the cost of my Kyocera Hydro which was $17.50 within a few weeks making it free. I have used Ebates for other purchases since then and I really like it.

When you sign up for Ebates you will get a $5.00 that will be credited after you spend at least $25.00 with them. This is really easy to do since it includes places like Groupon, Ebay, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and many many more including most wireless phone carriers. Many of the places that I mention here to get extra phones will give you a rebate through Ebates. As always I appreciate anyone using my referral link to sign up since we each get a $5.00 bonus that way. Referrers get volume bonuses so be sure to invite friends.

Radio Shack

Radio Shack has sales and deals on phones from time to time. I picked up my Lg Optimus Zone 2 which has Android 4.4 KitKat and a dual core processor for $30.00 (on sale until July 17th, 2014) at Radio Shack. Radio Shack also has a 2.5% Ebates rebate.

Best Buy

Best Buy has Lg Optimus Zone 2 for $49.99 but it was $24.99 last week so I recommend checking them out and watching for sales. You never know what you might find. Best Buy has a 1.o% cash back from Ebates.

Ebay

You can find all kinds of deals at ebay on phones. This would be a good place to find cracked screen or bad ESN deals. You don’t need to use the phone portion of the phone so it should not matter if it can’t be activated. Don’t buy anything stolen though; I’m sure that is not worth the hassle. Ebay offers 1.0% cash back through Ebates.

Craigslist

There are Tons of great deals on Craigslist. The best stuff goes really fast so you have to watch it closely. People sell cracked screen phones that still work really cheap on Craigslist. Watch out for stolen merchandise.

MetroPCS

MetroPCS has a phone called the ZTE Concord II that is perfect for PerkTV. Most of the specs are pretty comparable to my Samsung Galaxy SII and it is currently on sale for $29.99 (reg $99.99). The only catch is that they won’t sell it to you unless there is a MetroPCS store nearby even if you have perfect coverage in your area like me.

Amazon

Amazon is a Great resource for buying almost anything. Phones tend to be a little higher but if you follow my blog you probably have lots of Amazon gift cards lying around already so you don’t have to use cash. I purchased a Galaxy Rush and an iPhone 3gs on Amazon for my father to use Perk TV with for approximately $40.00 each. They were sold as used but the Galaxy Rush was brand new and sealed. Amazon offers cash back on some categories on Ebates but not phones. Here are some lower cost phones from Amazon that will work just look for used or refurbished but good condition:
Samsung Galaxy Rush Prepaid Android Phone (Boost Mobile)

Kyocera Hydro Prepaid Android Phone (Boost Mobile)

Apple iPhone 3GS 8GB (Black) -(NOT UNLOCKED) AT&T ONLY USA

Is there A Referral Program?

Yes, there is currently a pretty good referral program that pays the referrer 500 points and the referral 50 points. I appreciate anyone using my code. Here are the links to sign up.

Cashing Out With Perk TV

This is pretty easy. Cash Outs are processed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. When you cash out you will be asked to verify your phone number so they can send you a code. You can use your Google Voice number if you want. When you get the text you input the code and you are asked to verify your address. Once you do they will give you an estimated date that your gift card will arrive which is usually the next Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. I have never had a code be late but sometimes they can be early.

They will mail you a link with your gift card code within a few days. I have only ever redeemed Amazon cards so far but I found that they have 2 symbols at the end of the code that look like **. Do not put the symbols into Amazon because it will make the code appear invalid. Just cut and paste everything in front of the symbols.

Helpful Perk TV Tips

  • I highly recommend clicking ads that interest you if you want the program to succeed although this is completely passive depending on the phone’; they make all of their money from advertisers so supporting them will go a long way.
  • When you sign up be sure to use your real information, they do verify ID’s sometimes and you don’t want to risk losing your account.
  • Don’t every use a VPN on any device, this will get you banned and you will lose all of your points. If you are in a country other than the US be happy that they let you use the service at all even at a lower rate since most companies like this don’t.
  • If you are using Android make sure that you get Clean Master it will save you lots of time and effort.
  • Most Androids need to be restarted once a day and the cache should be cleaned regularly for maximum performance.
  • If you have limited bandwidth make sure to check the low bandwidth option, PerkTV uses a huge amount of data.
  • Do not use any ad blocking software since they are paying you to watch ads.

  1. hey found your site and used your referral for perk tv.thanks

  2. I’ve been using it for a while now. I was using mpoints but swapped it out for this. not a bad tradeoff 🙂 …then I stumbled on this website…are you saying you can have Perk running on multiple devices at the same time? O_o

    • Hi Dan,

Yes, the TOS states that each person can have up to 5 devices running at the same time and each household can have up to 5 accounts. One account per person and everyone with an account must have a valid ID so kids cannot have their own accounts.

  3. I have two old phones with the google play market. I tried to use these phones to download the perk app but it wasn’t on the market. I updated the phones through my wifi but still no luck. You say you can download the app on old phones but I couldn’t find the app on the market on my old phones; phones are maybe 3 years old. Any suggestions?

    • Hi Kasey,

You need to be able to get at least Android 4.0 or higher in order for it to work. On IOS you need a 3GS or newer. I had that issue with some of my old phones as well. You can easily pick up brand new phones for $30 or less with up to 4.4 (KitKat) which will pay for themselves in about a month.

  4. so you’re saying, one account can have up to 5 devices? sorry to be belaboring the point, but I just wanted to be extra clear. Also, how does Perk verify accounts? thanks in advance.

    • Yes, at this point 5 devices per account. You will need to either have an SMS message or phone call when cashing out. If they suspect that you are not who you say you are they may require photo ID.

  5. I was wandering if you need phone service on the phone you run these apps on? Or do you just need a smartphone?

  6. Bad business!!!! Saved for over a year, then because I didn’t sign in for 30 days, (medical and family emergency), the points disappeared! Worthless!!!! Don’t waste your time!!!!!!!
