mPoints Mobile Rewards Review | Paid 12 Times

Your Mobile App Loyalty Plan

mPoints is a rewards program by Sessionm for Android, iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. It pays you to play games, visit apps, watch videos and various other activities. mPoints is not an individual app it is a rewards program for many different apps.  I have been actively using apps that have mPoints for about 3 months and so far I have been paid 12 times for a total of $120.00 in iTunes gift cards.

Update July,2014 – I have not used mPoints for over a year at this point. They have continued to make significant changes to the earnings and rewards to the point where I don’t think it is worth using any more. I am leaving the review as it is since this is what my experience was but be aware that the earnings will be much much lower. I still think it would be ok for anyone who is using any of the apps already but I don’t think it is worth going out of your way for since there are much better opportunities to use your time on.  Also, I have had some negative feedback about other users experiences. Please check the comments and share your experience with mPoints.

mPoints Is Moved To The Graveyard

Update August 2022 – Sessionm the company behind mPoints as we knew it was sold to MasterCard.

Be aware that from my research this company does not seem to be turning a profit or even have a solid plan to become profitable yet. At this point it seems to me like they are just trying to build the network of users. While I really enjoy the service and I hope that it will work well I seriously doubt it will pay as much as it does now while making a profit at the same time. They have significantly changed the rules about how much you can earn and what you get paid for different things since I started using the service and I suspect we will see many more earnings declines in the future.

How Much Can I Earn With mPoints?

Update  March 6th – The amount of points you earn per app per day is now 200 with a total limit of 1000 overall each day. The price of the gift cards has more than doubled as of March 1st to 25,000 points for a 10.00 gift card and you can only get 1 of each type of gift card each week. If a particular gift card is sold out they restock at 7pm Eastern.

mPoints is a separate program from the apps that it pays you to use. If an app has mPoints enabled there are several different achievements that you can do to earn points. 10000 points is equal to $10.00 and there is an earnings limit of 2500 points or $2.50 that you can earn each day with standard point activities. There is also a new 500 point limit per app per day. Sometimes you are able to earn a little more than 2500 points with bonuses. Realistically at the time of this writing you can easily make about $75.00 a month in gift cards using mPoints enabled apps.

What Are The Rewards?

mPoints is a virtual Currency that can be converted into gift cards including Amazon, iTunes, Barnes and Noble, Lands’ End, Cabela’s, JC Penney, CVS Pharmacy, Bath and Body Works, Groupon, and many others. You can redeem your mPoints for charities including ASPCA, American Red Cross, Habitat For Humanity, Livestrong, Sandy Hook School Support, etc. They also run different contests that you can enter that start at 100 mPoints to win bigger prizes that range in value from $25 gift cards to $250+ prizes.

Earning mPoints

When you use mPoints enabled apps there are many different achievements that you can accomplish. The achievements are listed under the mRewards tab under explore on the apps. Sometimes achievements are as simple as using the app. Many of them require you to engage with the app and do certain activities. I have gotten achievements that pay as little as 5 mPoints or half a penny and as much as 1000 mPoints which is equivalent to $1.00. Some achievements can be done several times a day, some everyday, and some once a week. There have been an increasing amount of 1 time only achievements recently.

Claiming mPoints

After you have earned your mPoints you need to claim them. In order to do this you go to the achievements in the explore tab. You go down the list of achievements you have earned and press claim. Usually there is an advertisement for other apps but sometimes there will be bonus engagements like surveys and videos. You have the option of claiming each achievement immediately after you have earned it or you can wait until you have accumulated as much as you want. I usually rack up a large amount of points before I claim them. If you wait too long it can be very time consuming and you run into the daily limit which can be a little frustrating. You must claim the points within 7 days after you earn them or they will be deleted.

Levels

When you claim your mPoints there is a meter and for every 10 achievements you claim you will receive a spin which you can win between 5 and 250 mPoints. Each app sets its own unique amount of levels. I have not yet reached the maximum amount for any of the apps I have tested.

Bonuses

When you get a bonus engagement from a sponsor or a survey from mPoints you are able to earn extra mPoints that don’t count toward your daily total. Bonuses can either be random after you claim your points or they will be under bonus in the explore tab. I have seen so many different types of bonuses including videos, games, and surveys. Most of the bonus engagements are advertising a product. Some of the major sponsors are Ford, Energizer, McDonald’s, Universal, Volvo, and American Express. Sometimes you can get 100-200 bonus points with the better bonuses.  Most of the time if you click the ad after the video or game has ended you will get more points.

mPoints Enabled Apps

There are many different apps that use mPoints for IOS and for Android. I will break this down into an iPhone section and an Android section. The amount of points each app pays out can vary and it frequently changes. Some apps have free or paid versions; I will only list the versions that include mRewards. I highly recommend trying the free versions first and purchasing the paid versions with iTunes gift cards from mPoints if you like them. If there is a free and paid option the rewards for paid versions are usually the same or lower than the free versions. Sometimes apps will stop using mPoints and there are new apps being added frequently.

Just a little tip: if you don’t want these apps to drive you crazy all of the time I recommend not allowing push notifications unless you really want to be bombarded with messages from them.

Warning: You are allowed only one account per person regardless of the number and types of phones you have. If you have both Android and iPhone you must use the same account between both devices. If you are caught with more than one account you may lose your account and forfeit any points.

Mpoints Apps For IOS

The Daily Puppy (Free)

The Daily Puppy by Demand Media is an app that has pictures of cute puppies. I recommend starting with this app since it is free and very easy to use. The amount of mPoints you receive is very good for the amount of effort it takes. Most achievements are worth 15 mPoints but some of them are worth 25. All of the achievements are extremely easy and who doesn’t like to look at cute puppies?

Here is the link to download the Daily Puppy app for free in the Apple App Store:

University Wallpapers (Free)

Realtree University Wallpapers by Appible is a very good app for earning mPoints. It is now a paid version only. The achievements are easy and there is a daily progressive achievement that pays very well if you open the app at least once a day. Most of the achievements in the University Wallpapers app are repeatable several times a day.

Here is the link to download the University Wallpapers app for free in the Apple App Store:

They also have a free app called 2048 with mPoints and Kiip rewards that launched in July of 2014:

Office Zombie by Fluik is a game that is almost identical to Office Jerk except with zombies. You fling various items at a zombie who is patiently trying to work. I think it is pretty fun and they frequently have new items to throw. This game has quite a few achievements but not as many as Office Jerk. This game has some cartoon violence that might not be appropriate for children.

Here is the link to download Office Zombie for free in the Apple App Store:

Office Jerk (Free)

Office Jerk by Fluik is a game where you get to fling all kinds of things at your co-worker sitting in front of you who kind of reminds me of Dwight Shrute. This is a pretty good time waster with lots of mPoints achievements. This game also has quite a bit of cartoon violence.

Here is the link to download Office Jerk for free in the Apple App Store:

Luxor Evolved (Paid)

Luxor Evolved by Mumbo Jumbo is a pretty good retro style marble shooting game. You have to prevent trains of marbles from getting to the goal by shooting them with your marbles. I enjoy the style and the gameplay quite a bit but there are some pretty annoying popups that I don’t think should be interfering with a paid app. The last time I checked these were both .99 cents.

Here is the link to download Luxor Evolved HD (Paid) in the Apple App Store:

Here is the link to download Luxor Evolved full (Paid) in the Apple App Store:

Highway Rider (Free)

Highway Rider by Battery Acid Games is a motorcycle riding game where the object is mainly to get as close to the other vehicles and have the most epic crashes. You can try not to crash but the longer you stay on your bike the faster it goes. The more medical bills you rack up the higher your score. The mPoints achievements are really easy and the game is very fun.

Here is the link to download Highway Rider for free in the Apple App Store:

Nexercise (Free)

Icon-iPad

Nexercise is a great app for helping you remember to get in shape. It is always so much easier and more fun to exercise if you are getting paid for it. They have another rewards program called Kiip Rewards in addition to mPoints to help motivate you. There is also a social aspect where you get extra points for adding friends and referrals so you can work out together. Here is the link to my full review of Nexercise.

Here is the link to download Nexercise for free in the Apple App Store:

Here is my referral link to add me as a friend on Nexercise.

Zombie Bowl-O-Rama (Paid)

Zombie Bowl-O-Rama by Mumbo Jumbo is an addictive bowling game where you are using zombies as bowling pins and a ball with all kinds of different power ups. I find myself struggling to put it down each time I start playing. Once you are familiar with the power ups and what they do the game is really fun. I have never bowled a perfect game and I wonder if it is possible since you don’t start with any power ups. There is no free version at this time but the price has come down to .99 cents for both games from $4.99 when I purchased the HD version.

LIVESTRONG.COM MyPlate Calorie Tracker Lite (Free)

The LIVESTRONG.COM MyPlate Calorie Tracker Lite is probably a very good app for keeping track of what you eat if you need help with that. You figure out how many calories you need in a day and you can track all of your meals, snacks, water intake, and exercise within the app. I personally have not set it up yet because I don’t really need to track all of these things. I just get a push notification every day reminding me to track my calories. I recommend not allowing push notifications when you set this app up if you don’t intend to take advantage of it.

Here is the link to download the LIVESTRONG.COM MyPlate Calorie tracker for free in the Apple App Store:

Arcade Hoops (Free and Paid)

Arcade Hoops by Skyworks Games is a really fun Basketball app that simulates a contained arcade style Basketball game. When I first started playing this game there was a 1000 point achievement in the free version only. I found that the paid version did not pay nearly as many mPoints as the free version at that time. Now they are pretty similar. The benefit of the paid version is you get different backgrounds, depths, and balls but the free version is the one I like the best.

Here is the link to download Arcade Hoops Basketball Free in the Apple App Store:

Here is the link to download the Arcade Hoops Basketball (Paid) in the Apple App Store:

Touch Hockey FS5 (Free)

Touch Hockey FS5 by FlipSide is my favorite of the two air hockey apps that offer mPoints. The reason I prefer it is that the perspective is closer which makes it feel more realistic to me. This game is very easy on the easy level, kind of difficult on the medium level, and almost impossible on the hard level. I usually just go for the easy and medium mPoints achievements because the hard ones are out of my reach most of the time. The pop ups between games can be a little annoying since they sometimes come from out of nowhere after you touch the screen causing an accidental click which is pretty disruptive to the game.

Here is the link to download Touch Hockey FS5 for free in the Apple App Store.

Addicting Games (Free)

Addicting Games by Nickelodeon Games (the same company as the channel) has a huge variety of interesting games to play. It is similar to the Addicting games website but it pays you even though it has a few less games. There are so many mPoints achievements in Addicting games but it takes a lot of time to go through all of the games to find the ones you like. Some of my personal favorite games so far are: Stars Aren’t Worth This, Heads Up Hoops, Still Pond, Man-Eating Castle and Vampire Physics. I will admit that I have not played them all though.

Here is the link to download Addicting Games for free in the Apple App Store:

Mancala: FS5 (Free)

Mancala by Flipside5 is a version of the classic Mancala board game. I have never understood Mancala and this game is no exception. I’m sure it is fun if you have a clue what is happening but this game really is not for me even if I am getting paid to play it.

Here is the link to download Mancala: FS5 for free in the Apple App Store.

Crackle (Free)

Crackle is a free app that allows you to watch free movies and TV shows on your iPhone without signing up. The selection is not anywhere near as good as paid services but it’s free and it pays you. The selection kind of reminds me of when my (former) stepfather used to take me and my sister to the library instead of the video store to rent movies when we were kids.

Here is the link to download Crackle for free in the Apple App Store:

Zap Da Bug (Free)

Zap Da Bug by The Small Fortune Company is a game where a bunch of bugs fly by and you zap them with electricity. The game is very basic and simple. It’s ok at first but gets old after a while. The achievements list is pretty small compared to some of the other games.

Here is the link to download Zap Da Bug for free in the Apple App Store:

Flip Da Coin (Free)

Flip Da Coin by The Small Fortune Company is just a coin flip app with what appears to be a gold colored Morgan Dollar. This is a very simple app but there are a pretty large amount of achievements. This app would be a decent replacement for a real coin flip if you needed to do one.

Here is the link to download Flip Da Coin for free in the Apple App Store:

Tap Da Cookie (Free)

Tap Da Cookie by The Small Fortune Company is a fortune cookie app. It is also pretty basic and gives you a fortune cookie type fortune with lucky numbers. This app has a decent amount of achievements that are very easy to earn.

Here is the link to download Tap Da Cookie for free in the Apple App Store:

3 Point Hoops Basketball (Free and Paid)

3 Point Hoops Basketball by Skyworks Games is meant to be a more realistic basketball game where you shoot for 3 point shots from different angles. When I first downloaded this game there was a 1000 mPoint achievement but it was pretty much impossible to get. The game moves very slowly and is not very responsive or accurate. On the iPhone I find it to be extremely difficult to land any shots. Arcade hoops works way better and it is much more fun.

Here is the link to download 3 Point Hoops Basketball Lite for free in the Apple App Store:

Here is the link to download 3 Point Hoops Basketball (Paid) in the Apple App Store:

World Cup Air Hockey (Free and Paid)

World Cup Air Hockey by Skyworks Games is my second favorite air hockey app that has mRewards. The game is ok but the perspective is a little farther away than Touch Hockey FS5 which makes it seem less realistic to me. I enjoy it but the other one is more fun.

Here is the link to download World Cup Air Hockey Free in the Apple App Store:

Here is the link to download World Cup Air Hockey (Paid) in the Apple App Store:

Airport Madness Challenge (Free and Paid)

Airport Madness Challenge by Fluik is a time management app where you are an air traffic controller trying to have planes take off and land safely at your airport. I really struggle with time management apps so this is really not my genre. I find that I crash way too many planes. I feel like the Launchpad McQuack of air traffic controllers when I play this game.

Here is the link to download  Airport Madness Challenge for free in the Apple App Store:

Here is the Airport Madness Challenge paid version:

Gun Runner (Free)

Gun Runner by Man Up Time reminds me a little bit of an NES game I used to play when I was a kid called Contra. It has a really great classic 80’s arcade one man taking on a whole military Rambo kind of feel to it when it works. Sadly it has not been working on my iPhone  at all since I upgraded to IOS6. I hope they get it updated soon.

Here is the link to download Gun Runner for free in the Apple App Store:

New England Patriots 2014 (Free)

New England Patriots 2012 is an app designed to help you follow the New England Patriots stats. Once again I am not much of a football fan anymore so this is not my favorite app. If the Patriots are your team this is the app for you. There is a fair amount of daily achievements in this app.

Here is the link to download New England Patriots 2014 in the Apple App Store for free:

Horoscopes By Tarot.com (Free)

Horoscopes by Tarot.com is a regular free horoscope app. It is fun to look at your horoscope sometimes but obviously if 1/12 of the population has the same horoscope as you do it is a pretty broad generalization. There are a very low number of achievements available in this app.

Here is the link to download Horoscopes By Tarot.com for free in the Apple App Store:

MTV News (Free)

MTV News by MTV Networks is the app to catch up on, what else, MTV News. I was very disappointing to find that MTV is promoting news without Kurt Loder. The news didn’t seem as high quality as MTV News on Tv.

Here is the link to download MTV News for free in the Apple App Store:

Beat The Traffic (Free)

Beat The Traffic by Triangle Software is an app that helps you to avoid traffic jams and other road issues. I didn’t find this app to be very useful for me since I live in a medium size city and I am pretty good at beating the traffic without the app. I can see where it would come in handy in the bigger cities where traffic is much more of a problem like Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago.

Here is the link to download Beat The Traffic for free in the Apple App Store:

<

Fatify (Free)

Fatify by Apptly is an app where you can manipulate photos of people to make them look fat. I found this app to be quite disturbing and repulsive. It is definitely not for me but if you want to give your little sister or girlfriend a complex this will probably do it.

Here is the link to download Fatify for free in the Apple App Store:

Craigslist (Free)

Craigslist by Lifelike Apps is a newspaper themed Craigslist App for iPhone and Android. There is a decent amount of daily achievements in this app.

Here is the link to download Craigslist for free in the Apple App Store:

Trailer Addict (Free)

Trailer Addict by Demand Media is an app that shows you HD movie trailers. The trailers are not limited to just current movies they also have a large variety of older trailers. I found some classic trailers of movies that I really liked. Unfortunately there are a lot of classic trailers missing. There is a daily check in with bigger achievements if you check in every day.
Here is the link to download Trailer Addict for free in the Apple App Store:

mPoints Apps For Android

There is an issue with Jelly Bean for Android. Some of the developers have not updated mPoints to work with Jellybean. Since I am using Ice Cream Sandwich to test I have to rely on other users reports about what works with Jelly Bean, please let me know in the comments below if you know other apps that work. I have provided images for illustration purposes where I can but they may not exactly match the images in The Google Play Store.

Nexcercise (Free)

Icon-iPad

Nexercise is an app that pays you to exercise. It is always easier to exercise if you are getting paid for it and this is a fun way to motivate you to get a little more exercise. There is also a social aspect to it that gives you the benefit of exercising in a group. In addition to a large amount of mPoints achievements you will also receive Kiip Rewards when you exercise with this app. When I remember to use it I find this app to be a very nice way to try to keep in shape. This app is Jellybean compatible. Here is a link to my full review of Nexercise.

Here is the link to download Nexercise for free from the Google Play Store.

Here is my referral link to add me as a friend on Nexercise.

Office Jerk (Free)

Office Jerk Free by Fluik is a mindless game where you get to fling various items at your co-worker that is sitting in front of you. I find it pretty amusing and there is a very large amount of daily achievements in this app. There is some cartoon violence in this game so it is not appropriate for everybody.

Here is the link to download Office Jerk Free in the Google Play Store.

Office Zombie (Free)

Office Zombie Free by Fluik is very similar to Office Jerk except you are throwing objects at a Zombie co-worker. This is pretty entertaining and mindless. There are a good amount of daily achievements in this app but it is less than Office Jerk. The cartoon violence against the Office Zombie is more extreme than it is against the Office Jerk.

Here is the link to download Office Zombie Free in the Google Play Store.

TuneWiki (Free)

TuneWiki is a music app that plays several different radio stations over the internet for free. It looks like the premise is to show you the lyrics while you are listening to the songs but I have not found any stations that have streaming lyrics available. The music does have commercials in it. There is a pretty large amount of achievements in this app compared to other Android apps.

Here is the link to download TuneWiki for free in the Google Play Store.

Dictionary.com (Free)

Dictionary.com is a dictionary and thesaurus app. This is an extremely helpful app that allows you to look up words on your phone instead of the computer or a book. There is a pretty good amount of achievements including a word of the day to help boost your vocabulary. It looks like there is an iPhone version that does not have mPoints available.

Here is the link to download Dictionary.com for free in the Google Play Store.

Crackle (Free)

Crackle is an app that allows you to watch full length movies and TV shows for free. The content is very limited compared to paid services like Netflix of Hulu but it is decent for a free app that pays you. There is a medium amount of achievements including a daily check in that gives you much bigger points for opening the app 5-7 days in a row.

Here is the link to download Crackle for free in the Google Play Store

The Weather Channel (Free)

The Weather Channel app gives you current weather, weather forecasts, and weather related news. This is a good source for accurate weather planning. There is a decent amount of mPoints achievements available in this app.

Here is the link to download The Weather Channel free from the Google Play Store.

MTV News (Free)

MTV News by MTV Networks is an app that gives you entertainment news. I am disappointed that I have not seen Kurt Loder in any of the news segments. MTV has really gone downhill since the invention of reality TV. The news is not as good as the news I remember from the channel. There is a pretty small amount of achievements in this app

Here is the link to download MTV News free in the Google Play Store.

MMA Underground Lite (Free)

MMA Underground Lite by Adept Mobile is an app designed for MMA fans. As someone who enjoys boxing I will try to be nice but I really don’t get MMA so this app really isn’t for me. This app has a very limited amount of mPoints achievements available.

Here is the link to download MMA Underground Lite free in the Google Play Store.

New England Patriots 2012 (Free)

New England Patriots 2012 is the Official Patriots App designed for fans to follow the Patriots. I am not really much of a football fan so this is not my favorite app but I can see where it would be very helpful for fans. There is a relatively small amount of achievements available in this app.

Here is the link to download New England Patriots 2012 for free in the Apple App Store.

Lucky Bingo (Free)

Lucky Bingo by LuckyLabs is a free bingo app. It features many different bingo games and the ability to play multiple cards at a time. I have never been a very big fan of bingo so I got bored playing it but if you enjoy bingo this would be a fun game. You don’t play for money you play for coins that allow you to buy extra cards and progress to different styles of bingo. Most of the achievements are 1 time only with very few available daily.

Here is the link to download Lucky Bingo for free in the Google Play Store.

 Trailer Addict (Free)

Trailer Addict by Demand Media is an app that shows you HD movie trailers. There are current movie trailers and classic trailers. I am not really a “trailer addict” but they can be fun to watch sometimes.

Here is the link to download Trailer Addict for free in the Google Play Store.

Sushi Shooter (Free)

Sushi Shooter by GameCloud is a skinned version of Frozen Bubble. The game is enjoyable but it is not the best version of this particular game that I have played. You have to shoot sushi pieces at groups of other sushi pieces before they reach you. At the time of this writing there are only 2 daily achievements.

Here is the link to download Sushi Shooter for free in the Google Play Store.

Airliners.net (Free)

Airliners.net is an app for people who enjoy looking at pictures of planes. I find airplanes to be somewhat interesting but they are not my favorite thing to look at pictures of. There is a medium amount of mPoints achievements including daily and weekly achievements in this app.

Here is the link to download Airliners.net free in the Google Play Store.

Livestrong.com Calorie Tracker Lite (Free)

The LIVESTRONG.COM MyPlate Calorie Tracker Lite is probably a very good app for helping to keeping track of what you eat. After you figure out how many calories you need in a day it helps you track all of your meals, snacks, water intake, and exercise. I have not set it up because I don’t really need to track all of those things. I do get a push notification every day reminding me to track my calories. I strongly recommend not allowing push notifications if you don’t intend to take advantage of this app.

Here is the link to download Livestrong.com Calorie Counter Lite for free in the Google Play Store.

Shazam (Free)

Shazam by Shazam Entertainment is a very handy app that listens to music and tells you what the song and artist is. It also works with TV shows and ads. I have found this app to be incredible useful for years. At this time is appears that mPoints is not active in this app. Shazam is Jellybean compatible. I have put it on the list because they say it is supposed to have it. I will remove it if it is not added soon.

Here is the link to download Shazam free from the Google Play Store.

Craigslist (Free)

Craigslist by Lifelike Apps is designed let you use Craigslist with a user interface that looks like a newspaper. At the time of this writing there is a huge amount of achievements if you post a lot of Craigslist ads but a relatively small amount if you just use it without posting ads.

Here is the link to download Craigslist for Free in the Google Play Store.

Is There A Referral Program?

At this point there is no referral program for mPoints. It does not appear that they will be using one in the near future. They are using word of mouth and social networking to promote this program.

Cashing Out

Once you have reached the minimum cash out for the reward you want all you need to do is select it under Get Gift Cards or Enter To Win Big Prizes in the rewards tab. You need to fill out a captcha to confirm your order. Gift cards are sent within 2 business days after you order them. I have only ordered iTunes gift cards so far and they come from iTunes Gift with the subject Apple iTunes Gift which I thought was a little confusing at first. If you don’t open the email right away they will keep sending reminders until you do.

mPoints Customer Service

At this point I have not needed customer service for anything except clarification on some policies they have recently changed. I sent the original email requesting clarification about their policies 2 weeks ago and a follow up email 1 week ago with only an automated reply. I am a little concerned about how slowly the customer service works. I have decided to publish without their input since 2 weeks is long enough to respond to an email.

Here is my initial email to mPoints support from January 21st:

Hi,

I have been using your service for a few months now and I really like it. I am working on a review of your program for my website AppsThatPayYou.com and I have some questions to ask so I can clarify some things before I publish.

I understand that there is a limit of 2500 points per day but I saw something posted on your Facebook page that said bonus points do not count toward the limit. Is this still true and does it include wheel spins and daily challenge bonuses or just advertiser bonuses?

There is only one account per person regardless of how many apps or devices. When I tried to sign in to my account to test Office Jerk with my Android after having used it on my iPhone for a substantial amount of time I was unable to claim points. Is there a rule against using IOS and Android versions of the same app?

I am a little confused about signing in to an account when starting with a new app. There used to be a rule that we could accumulate 10,000 points before signing in for the first time. This was recently changed to 2,500 points but when I accumulated 2,500 points on Zombie Bowl A Rama and signed in for the first time I was only credited 1,000 points. What are the rules regarding this?

I saw someone post that they had lost points because they had deleted an app then reinstalled it and tried to use it again. Is it against the rules to do this or was it because they had not signed in to their account first?

Is there any plans to add a referral program?

Can I use screenshots from my account in my review?

I would like to finish sometime this week if possible. Please let me know if you would like to read the review and make comments before I publish, I would be happy to email a copy.

Thanks,
Stan

Helpful mPoints Tips

  • You are only allowed 1 account per person regardless of how many devices you have. If you make more accounts you may loose your points.
  • Make sure you have time to do the brand bonuses when you go to cash out, if you close them without completing them they don’t come back.
  • You can use most of the apps while you are talking on the phone just don’t try to redeem the points while you are on the phone since the bonus videos will disrupt your call.
  • Always use the free versions of apps before the paid versions, usually the free ones pay more and you can buy the paid ones with a gift card from mPoints.
  • It is a good idea to create folders specifically for mPoints apps so you can remember to do them more often, the ones I have not placed in folders get neglected most of the time.
  • Enjoy this service while it lasts, there is a good chance it will get harder to earn in the future. There is also a chance that, like many good rewards programs, it could be discontinued eventually.

Comments

  1. Hi Stan,

This is an amazing review. There are several apps in your listing that I was unaware had Mpoints earning capability.

I have been earning from Mpoints for about 3 months, and like you have noticed that the earning capacity has reduced quite considerably. Nonetheless, I comfortably earn about $10.00 per week.

There are a couple of issues that I have experienced lately. Often access to the Mpoints portal is not available through certain apps. I am unsure whether this is due to server downtime, or high usage. Either way access can sometimes be patchy.

Today I tried to cash out, and noticed that they had run out of Itunes gift cards. This is something I have never experienced, or noticed before.

Thank you for a great review, and a wonderful blog.

    • Hi Gadi,

Thank you, I have noticed the occasional downtime lately as well. I checked the rewards after I read your post and it looks like there are many rewards that are out of stock today. This is the first time I have noticed this issue also. I hope it does not become a constant issue like it did for Viggle.

  2. hello, i dont understand how i can sign up, and start..

    • Hi Ziv,

You can start earning mPoints with any of the apps on this list. Once you reach 2,500 points you are prompted to register or sign in. The registration is either with your email or Facebook and it can be found at the top of the main mPoints screen in any of the apps by clicking sign in. Once you have registered for the first time you will just sign into your account with each additional app you use.

      • ohhhhhh ok… but where i can see when i have 2500 points? =D

        • There will be a running total of the amount of points you have cashed out at the very top. If it is a new app it will prompt you to register or sign in when you get to 2500 points. If you have already registered or signed in you will get a notification that you have reached the daily maximum and the app will not let you cash out any more points until the next day.

Be aware that this was recently changed from 10000 points with a new app to 2500 points and the last time I got to 2500 points before signing in the app only credited me 1000 points. I inquired about this discrepancy to support as you can see in the email and I have not gotten a reply.

          • The limit you can earn in each app before registering has now been changed to 500 points which is also the new daily limit per app.

I tried some of the Apps and I’m having a hard time signing up as well.. 🙁

  4. I can’t seem to find this app in the google play store for my android whatsoever. Is it still active?

    • Hi Jamie,

mPoints is not an app. It is a rewards program for apps. There are many different apps that feature mPoints. Any of the apps that I have listed in the review should be a good starting point for mPoints, just click the links I have provided and it will take you to the apps in the Google Play Store.

  5. How do you start this?

  6. Hi Stan, Love your reviews. Do you know if they are increasing the limit? And also the game that its like Contra is the best game to earn mPoints at the moment as they reward you 20m Points if you do something 10 times a day! Regards, JP

    • Hi JP,

Thanks, I don’t know if they will increase it. It used to pay very well but as it has become more popular the amounts have been reduced.

  7. Hi, I am so pleased to have found your blog.
    I have a few questions.
I’ve been playing for 3 months now & all of a sudden am not allowed to view the +15 points for the special videos that are available as extra points while playing/viewing an app.
Have you or anyone else experience this problem?
What gets me is there’s some videos that you don’t receive any additional points for but they always come in fine.
Anyways, another question that I have is I’m trying to save up for one of the big prizes.
Is there any way they can take these points away from me?
It’s just I didn’t understand what you meant in your blog about brand points or something or another being deleted or taken away.
Can you please explain that further in detail by “brand”.
By the way, mPoints seem to be locking me out after 1000 points, whereas I read you getting at least 2500.
Also, you mentioned when you reach a different level, you “spin” something ???
Why isn’t this happening to me?
For example, it will say I have achieved a new level & I only get +15 points.
One more thing that I keep noticing, instead of getting the +15 video to watch, I’ll get a message that says congratulations: +10 & + 15, but I never receive either.
Hope to hear back from you & again, thank you for this blog & for the additional apps that I can now DL. PS- did you also know that (I’m guessing its called the home page in each app) that has additional points for twitter.
I do like mPOINTS .. Just wish I wasn’t running into so many problems. Example say the app will run a +15 video 10 times while I’m in the app. Well I’m lucky if I can view the video once.
PS- I have cleared my history, cookies & running programs but still nothing helps.
Thanks again. Sorry for the long post – Jenn

  8. Hey Stan,

Just came across your website and was thrilled to have finally found a decent mPOINTS review.

I actually joined the program in April, and have also noticed many (unfavorable) changes in that short period.

As a result, I’m wondering if it would be at all possible to add some updated information here. Mainly, it would be super useful to have a breakdown of each mPoint app’s total possible # of points achievable per day–excluding bonus points or any other promotions, obviously).

For example, (& FYI, these are NOT the actual #’s), it may look something like:

    DICTIONARY: 10 tasks= 50pts**
    CRACKLE: 12 tasks= 75pts**

Providing such a simple, straightforward list would be extraordinarily helpful by allowing us to clearly ascertain exactly which apps are most valuable & worthy of our time.

What do you think?! Could you put together something like that?

Many thanks in advance for your time & willingness to provide such great material!

    • The program has changed significantly. I don’t really know what everything pays anymore and it seems to be subject to change at any time. All of my points were deleted due to inactivity.

  9. Great review! I started using mPoints and SwagBucks about the same time and already cashed in a $5 Amazon gift card. SwagBucks hasn’t sent me the $5 yet. Great rewards program, I just hope they will be able to maintain it and stay afloat. I’m a long-distance runner so the mPlaces feature works great for me.

You mention something about a spin for accomplishing each level within an app. Can someone please explain where this spin chance is located? I have never seen this. Also it appears as you earn more and more points you get less and less bonus opportunities. Thanks

    • Hi Michael,

I need to make an update. This opportunity has been changed significantly since I wrote the article. The earning potential is much lower now.

MPOINTS, YOU SUCK!!!!!! I would like to add my information on mpoints. I use the following four mpoints apps: scanlife, 2048, punchcard, and app rewards. Since May 4, 2014 I have won only 8 $1 amazon.com gift cards. I have contacted their support several times but have never gotten my gift cards or a response with an explanation. I finally got an automated response on July 12, 2014 that stated the email response below, but I haven’t heard back from them after the 24 hours time frame. I now know what I have know all along, this is a scam. I have even posted negative comments about my experience on their facebook page. I got a response on Facebook saying to email supports@getmpoints.com. I have been emailing this support email since late May and have yet to get a response other than the automated response on July 12, 2014. Using these apps are a waste of time. I don’t recommend anything associated with mpoints.
THIS IS THE EMAIL RESPONSE THAT THEY SENT ME BELOW THIS:
